Dr Andrea Schaffer is an NHMRC Early Career Research Fellow in the Medicines Policy Research Unit at the Centre for Big Data Research in Health, UNSW Sydney. She is a pharmacoepidemiologist and biostatistician with 11 years’ experience in population health research using Australian administrative health data. Her current research interests include exploring the impact of pharmaceutical policy on medicine utilisation, prescribing practices, and health outcomes, with a particular interest in opioids and psychotropic medicines.
