Stephen Johnston, PhD is Senior Director of Real-World Data Analytics and Research in Johnson & Johnson's Medical Device Epidemiology and Real-World Data Sciences group. Stephen joined J&J in 2016, prior to which he was Senior Director of Outcomes Research at Truven Health Analytics (now part of IBM Watson Health). Stephen has authored over 100 peer-reviewed manuscripts in the areas of epidemiology, outcomes research, and health economics, among other topics. Stephen holds a PhD in Public Policy with concentrations in Economics and Health Policy from the School of Public Policy at University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC). Stephen’s current focus areas of research include robotics and digital solutions, surgical oncology, general surgery, and advanced methods for causal inference.
